German Sustainability Prize 2009
For its exemplary execution of sustainability concepts, Werner & Mertz received the highly respected German Sustainability Prize in the top category "Germany's most sustainable brand" for its Frosch brand in 2009.
The jury of the German Sustainability Prize recognized that sustainability at Frosch is equivalent to obligatory standards along the entire value chain in the areas of ecology and economy and social issues. The Frosch brand has stood for ecological sustainability at the product brand level since its introduction in 1986 and has therefore earned the title "eco pioneer" in the cleaning products industry.
"The jury recognizes that Frosch, in its brand promise and brand management, particularly in brand adaptation to the customer's changing sustainability requirements, can be held up as a 'Best Practices' example, with first place in the category 'Germany's Most Sustainable Brand'," according to the jury's rationale for its choice.
